Omelette, it looks easy but is in fact very difficult to make. But with a little bit of practice you can master the technique.
First you need to know the basics and here to tech you is one of the most famous chefs in the world, the french Jacques Pepin.
You can put almost everything in an omelette, a couple of ideas would be ham, mushrooms, asparagus and salmon.
What you need besides the most obvious things like eggs, is an omelette pan. It’s a skillet that has no edges, it’s more like a shallow bowl and is also preferably non-stick.
A little note on the video, the quality is not the best but the cooking is. Also in the video, Pepin is not using a teflon coated skillet and can therefore use a metal fork. If you are using a teflon coated skillet or similar, use something soft like silicone or wood tools so you don’t scratch and damage the coating.
A little trick is to add just a very tiny pinch of Cayenne pepper to the mix, it will strengthen the flavor of the omelette.
