This drink may not look very manly but it’s the favorite drink of the Italian mafia. It was invented in Manhattan, New York in the late 18th century and there are many stories about who served it first. One story says it was invented by a bartender called Black in the 1860s at a Manhattan bar but no one really knows if that is true.
