It’s friday and that means one thing. Time for a good drink to welcome the weekend.
This weeks choice is the classic Rob Roy.
It was created by a bartender at Waldorf Astoria New York in 1894 and the name was selected to honour the premiere of the operetta Rob Roy. It’s very similar to a Manhattan but is made exclusively with scotch whisky.
What you need:
- 2 ounces blended Scotch whisky
- 3/4 ounce Italian vermouth
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
Shake the whisky, vermouth and bitters well with cracked ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon or a cherry.
It’s really simple and very good tasting.
