Shanghai. Largest city in the People’s Republic of China.
Over 23 million people sharing 6.300 sq km.
That ends up in over 3000 people in every sq km.
Not a lot of room for you and your suitcases.
Don’t panic, we found the solution.
Introducing the Waldorf-Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. Everything you need in one place. Trust us, we checked. Six restaurants and bars, luxury spa and a gym. And the most important of it all, the rooms are perfect.
But lets rewind a few years back in this beautiful building. In the 1920s and 1930s the Shanghai club was the most exclusive club in Shanghai. It’s 34 meter long bar was actually a social ranking, at the prime end sat the bank managers and other top class citizens but moving down, the social scale fell. Closed during the Pacific war the bar is just now getting back to it’s legendary status with the Waldorf-Astoria hotel rebuilding it using archived photographs. This is historic drinking at its best.
The best part about the hotel is not the bar but the location. The Bund is a waterfront area in central Shanghai. It is the most famous tourist destination in the city and has endless amounts of historic buildings.
Enjoy your stay.
